Abstract

This training program targets creative youth groups in the village, aiming to equip them with the skills to independently produce promotional and publication materials. The outcomes of the training are also expected to support the village government's ability to create visual media for activities and digital content that enhances accountability and public service. The urgency of this activity is driven by the previous community service (PKM) program on social media branding, which received positive responses from residents. As a follow-up, the village of Mendalo Darat requested a more technical training focused on graphic design. The program uses a participatory, hands-on training approach, similar to the method applied in the previous PKM but with a different target. Participants received basic design materials and Canva Mobile tutorials, along with direct assistance during content creation. The method includes short presentations, app demonstrations, independent practice, and group discussions, allowing the material to be adapted to the village's local needs. Canva Mobile was selected as the primary tool due to its accessibility, ease of use, and mobile compatibility. Even participants without a design background could create posters, product promotions, and social media content. This training, titled “Empowering Village Youth through Canva Mobile-Based Graphic Design Training to Support the P3PD Program,” is expected to enhance digital literacy and practical skills among villagers, foster local innovation, and strengthen the village's digital potential.
